This summer, the Yukon River had its weakest Chinook and chum runs in recorded history. Each week, Serena Fitka, the director of the Yukon River Drainage Fisheries Association, leads villagers and managers from up and down the river through weekly teleconferences where they can discuss the state of the fishery. This morning she’ll be breaking down some of the issues the people on the river are facing. Also joining us are the Yukon River Drainage Fisheries Association’s anthropologist, Catherine Moncrieff, and KYUK’s Olivia Ebertz.
