Several of yesterday’s winners at the Grammy Awards had connections to Memphis and the Mid-South, leading many music insiders to scratch their heads and tell themselves there must be “something in the water.”
The Arts and Science Center (ASC) for Southeast Arkansas in Pine Bluff has planned in-person and virtual events to take place in March. In addition to hosting a virtual concert and production, the ASC will offer hands-on workshops and display several exhibits.

David Jerry McCoy and The Hammers will perform Friday, March 5, as part of the series. The group has roots in rhythm, blues and rock ’n’ roll. The band consists of Mississippi Blues Hall of Famer Jerry McCoy, Kenneth McDougald and Ben Arrington.

Tickets are $5 for members and $10 for non-members. The ASC’s Facebook page will livestream the concert.
