NORTHPORT, MICH. The Michigan Department of Natural Resources is seeking public feedback on a new proposed plan for Leelanau State Park, which outlines a long-term vision for the park’s stewardship and management.
Part of the draft management plan lays out several high-priority projects to be completed in the next two years, including pursuing an easement or land acquisition to connect the park’s north and south units, studying options for restroom upgrades, exploring potential for additional rustic campsites, and modifying or relocating current campsites to ensure long-term sustainability from changing lake levels.
