Mayo launch new home jersey for 2021 season
March 15, 2021
Mayo GAA have unveiled their new home jersey for the 2021 season.
The new jersey, which goes on sale from May 5th, incorporates the Intersport Elvery’s brand for the 24th year and will be available exclusively through Elverys.ie until stores across Ireland re-open.
The new strip will also feature the county’s new secondary sponsor, PortWest, for the first time.
Speaking on the 2021 Mayo jersey reveal Patrick Rowland, CEO of Intersport Elvery s, said: “With so much uncertainty over the past year, it’s a great time to look to the future and reveal the brand-new Mayo jersey. Intersport Elvery s is deeply embedded in GAA and it is a privilege to once again present a new kit with O’Neill s which reflects on the past, but looks to the future. We remain behind the county teams as they develop and strive toward their aspirations in the coming season.”
Higgins to return to Mayo hurling fold Independent.ie 02/02/2021 Michael Verney
Mayo legend Keith Higgins may have called time on his inter-county football career, but he plans to return to his roots once again and rejoin the county hurling squad later this year.
Higgins recently brought the curtain down on a glittering 16-season career with the footballers having claimed four All-Stars and established himself as one of the best defenders in the modern era.
The 35-year-old made his name as a hurler before linking up with the footballers, though, and the Ballyhaunis dual star intends to resume his county career with the small ball and bolster the senior hurling squad.
