Santa rosa police are here investigating this deadly shootout involving Sonoma County sheriffs deputies and a man with a high powered rifle that show you some video from earlier. Now, it all began just after midnight when Sonoma County sheriffs deputies responded to reports of a man brandishing a rifle at a restaurant at stony point and todd road that doubles as a nightclub at night. Evening. He is okay, 100 . Juan says his coworker is in good shape. Both physically and emotionally, after being rescued early this morning from a hole he fell into yesterday afternoon. 42yearold man fell 17 feet into a sewer line in east oakland. With Construction Material falling on top of him. Really the plywood and the 4 x 4 bracing and everything on him across the back of his legs, so he was trapped. We couldnt lift him out without tearing his leg off, if you will. Firefighters say when they got there, the man was up to his neck in sand. They had to use a vacuum to get it out. It took more than 13 hours to free him and pull him to safety. I want to say thank you to the fire department. They are very helpful. They explain to him, relax. Give him medicine and all that. Pretty much everything is okay. Coronado said the father of two thought he might die during the ordeal. Hes grateful he survived and wasnt badly injured. I talked to the doctor, he said he go home tomorrow. Hes reedy
The way not only today but into the weekend as we have more storms lining up. In fact, it looks like this one may slow down a little bit. Our biggest problem is a power outage on bay area bridges including the lights out as you can see right now at the bay bridge. Looks like they were able to get some on approaching the pay gates at the bay bridge toll plaza. But all across the span on the upper and lower decks, its completely dark as you can see from this live look. This is a view from our roof camera on the top of the cbs 5 headquarters at broadway and battery. So right now the big issue is the metering lights. We talked to caltrans and they are hoping to get the metering lights on a backup syst
Oakland, stretching across the bay into south San Francisco. A little further to the north we can see the back side of the storm system. We mentioned the possibility of flooding in petaluma. They are seeing very heavy downpours right now. Expecting some flooding along the penngrove stream there. So thats expected to rise as more of that water comes down the hill so some very Stormy Weather there. Mill valley a strong cell headed there. Flash flood watches up for much of the bay area. They have been extended for the weekend. We have a lot more rain to come. Well have more on that coming up in just a few minutes. If you can leave later for your morning commute, gosh, it is just a mess in a lot of spots all across the bay area. Use mass transit. One of our biggest hot spots now continues to be the area around the dublin interchange. You can actually see on our camera those flashing lights.
