Its an incredibly special place. Reporter to see manresa, an institution of los gatos, so badly damaged, this woman cannot find words. It makes me feel very bad. Reporter 4 00 this morning Santa Clara County firefighters arrived to find the restaurant gas meter spewing flames like a dragon. A firefighter had to reach for the shutoff valve with only the layers of his suit between him and the hot gasfueled flames. The departments investigator believes the fire started outside the building by that meter. Burning up the wall of the kitchen and into the attic space above. Too early to see whether the gas meter fell which caused the fire. Or whether the fire was next to the gas meter and then heat from that transferred over and then basically made the meter fall. Today family members told us they are heartbroken and say they have a message they want others to hear about the dangers of illegal fireworks.
