Kristen this mornings hearing essentially started the process of figuring out if owen labrie had ineffective counsel during his trial and if he did, a new trial date would be set. Labrie could be seen walking into court this morning accompanied by his parents and his new defense attorney robin melone of nashua. Labrie was found guilty in 2015 of misdemeanor sex assault. His victim was a then15yearold girl. Labrie was sentenced to one year in jail. He was released on bail pending his appeal. A few months later, the state filed a motion to revoke bail based on allegations that he had violated his curfew. Labrie served two months in jail and is now back home with is family in vermont with a monitoring bracelet.
