The Congress government in Chhattisgarh has survived a no-confidence motion brought by the BJP on the final day of the state assembly s Monsoon session. The motion, based on a 109-point "chargesheet" accusing the government of corruption and failure to deliver on poll promises, was defeated by voice vote after 13 hours of debate. The BJP, which has 13 members in the 90-member assembly, was criticised by the Congress for presenting a chargesheet that lacked facts.
