BELLA VISTA, Ark. (AP) – A herd of 14 buffalo found wandering the streets of a
northwest Arkansas neighborhood has been reunited and returned safely to its
owners. A Bella Vista police spokeswoman says officers rounded up the last of
the fluffy cattle about 3 p.m. Monday. Spokeswoman Cassi Lapp said none were
lost. A video posted on Facebook by police in the city near the Missouri border
showed three buffalo ambling down a street Monday morning with a house visible
in the background. Police had asked the public to avoid the area while the
beasts were afoot.
Bella Vista police warned drivers about a herd of buffalo Monday morning.Police had seen at least 12 buffalo by 10:30 a.m., Cassi Lapp, communications director for the city, told 40/29 News.The city asked people to avoid the Branchwood area of the Highlands, where the buffalo have been seen near the street.Roads are open, but the city is ready to stop traffic if needed.The buffaloes owners have been identified and area trying to get the animals back to together and home safely, Lapp said.
