As we settle in for mid-winter and the weather that normally accompanies it it’s nice to have a few events that don’t require a trip across town, or even outside. Check out some livestreamed or recorded musical offerings and one art show that will have an in-person opening reception.

Portland Columbia Symphony Orchestra Brass Quintet
The Brass Quintet features Joe Klause and Logan Brown, trumpet; Doug Riggs, French horn; Greg Scholl, trombone; and Joe Ready, tuba. Livestreamed from Yoga on Yamhill in downtown Portland, the group performs a 45-minute program that includes selections ranging from Baroque and classical to jazz.
Portland winter theater, film guide: Organizers adapt to bring arts into homes

The winter season traditionally offers a full plate of theater, dance and other arts events. But with COVID-19 restrictions still firmly in place, companies have had to pivot to offer theater and film audiences new avenues to enjoy performances.
While some organizations are still finalizing plans and methods of delivery, the theater groups below have already rehearsed and recorded performances to stream on various platforms. Also this winter, two well-known film festivals are ready to stream movies, or provide drive-in screenings.
