BEARDSTOWN A solar farm project in the works near Beardstown has been delayed to allow for project development and the opportunity to market the energy the project will generate.
Savion Energy is proposing a 150-megawatt project called Cass County Solar LLC that will cover roughly 1,500 acres or less of farmland near Edgehill Road. The project has a life expectancy of 30 years and would create from two to five permanent jobs.
Courtney Timmons, development director for Savion, said the project still is moving forward.
“The project is now in the commercial marketing phase of development and continues to move as expected through the development schedule,” Timmons said.
