Sunderland boss Steve Bruce has confirmed that Town have made an enquiry regarding Hungarian international keeper Márton Fülöp. However, Bruce says he doesn’t think the move has as yet gone as far as a formal bid.
Today s two-goal hero Michael Chopra says he should have scored more than four times this season with opposition goalkeepers having pulled off a number of superb saves in recent games. Middlesbrough’s Carl Ikeme, West Ham’s Robert Green and Brighton’s Casper Ankergren have all made memorable stops from the Blues frontman over the last week.
Michael Chopra hit two stunning goals, his first at home for the Blues, and Ibrahima Sonko opened his Town account as Paul Jewell’s men came from behind to beat Brighton 3-1 at Portman Road. The Blues should have been in front at the break but it was the Seagulls who scored the game’s first goal via Vicente Rodriguez, before Sonko’s header sandwiched Chopra’s brilliant right-foot strikes.
