I tend to agree with you. Here comes the however part. We dropped one prospect and had two defensive flips according to Seth s front page article on Stargazing . They are:
Quintin Somerville: appeared to decommit due to Nua s eventual departure and stayed out west with UCLA. (signing day flip)
Casey Phinney: Per Seth - I kept the data so might as well update it. I figured there might be a drop when he got dropped from Michigan s class and flipped to BC, but he s been basically ignored.
Brandon Jennings: A guy that flipped to us from Florida State that then flipped to Maryland (signing day flip)

It s time for our quarterly review of relevant recruiting rankings. Why? Because big moves can mean as much as where they re ranked. Ratings are on a curved 5-star scale that averages all available data. Remember that players will tick downwards as a class progresses so dropping from 150th to 158th in a three-month period is nothing. Further explanation of all this here. Updated roster data are here.

Michigan four-star LB recruit Branden Jennings flips to another Big Ten school on early signing day
Updated Dec 16, 2020;
Michigan’s football program lost one of its top defensive commits in its 2021 class on Wednesday.
Jacksonville (Fla.) Sandalwood four-star linebacker Branden Jennings flipped his commitment from Michigan to Maryland and signed with Terrapins. Jennings, ranked as the No. 109 overall prospect nationally, per 247Sports’ Composite rankings, was the newest Wolverines pledge after committing in October just days after he decommitted from Florida State.
But the 6-foot, 3 ½-inch, 225-pounder reportedly had concerns about Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh’s contract situation. He said on his Instagram live video that he changed his mind “about a week ago” and called Maryland “the best place and fit for me.”
