WAHPETON, N.D. A judge ruled Thursday, Dec. 17, clearing a Lidgerwood school bus driver of any criminal wrongdoing after he failed to stop and crashed into a train. It s heartbreaking, and I don t even know how to break it to her, said Darryl Jelinek, whose daughter had to be airlifted from the crash.
That was Jelinek s reaction to the judge s not guilty verdict. His daughter was the most seriously hurt of the five children who were hospitalized after the crash. She testified on Thursday about the impact the crash has had on her life.
