massive, massive wildfire is burning right now across the southwestern united states. fire crews in both arizona and new mexico, struggling to try to stay ahead of the flames, as wind gusts fan these fires. new mexico, dealing with a massive fire that crossed over from the state of arizona, forcing evacuations in the small town of luna, and just south of see areaera vista, a raging wildfire has driven thousands from their homes, as flames chew through the dry brush and timbler. o tum ber. let s go live to casey stegall, following this for us. are fire our firefighters do have their hands full. reporter: you said it. at least seven different brushfires popped up in the state of arizona alone over the weekend, and the most serious threat this morning at this hour, the monument fire. it s been burning for about
the prosecution says that casey used duct tape to suffocate her daughter and now a defense witness says that duct tape was put on after the little girl was killed. no, it was not. i think that the duct tape was a later event. not an early event. after the decomposition? after decomposition. bill: that is crateical. and whether or not the jury buys it is something we re waiting on now. phil keating is live in orlando. did that testimony have much of an impact, phil? reporter: well, that remains to be seen. he is a famed forensic pathologist, dr. vernon sp sphiz, doing autopsy for more than 50 years, more than 150,000 of them and brought a real adult skull on to the witness stand on saturday and as photographs of the real autopsy photos of little caylee s skull were shown to the jurors, as
my former team has evidence that, in fact, poor caylee s remains were removed were moved by mr. crock, who made a phone call to his son to say i m going to be famous and i m going to be rich, then discovered the body a few days after that. okay, i m sorry? just so we don t lose folks, you are referring to who here? roy crock, who discovered the body. okay. we filed that s who i m talking about. the reason that s important, if the remains were removed were moved, which mr. spitz believes they were based on the scientific evidence, that means the state s case about how caylee passed away is kaput. and it s important to remember, also, in thinking about this, that the duct tape which is the center of their case, the center of the prosecution, does not have caylee s dna on t. does not have casey s dna on it, was still sticky, had the dna of an fbi worker, and of

fire investigators have not mentioned anything specifically about arrests or who they believe, in fact, started this fire and heather, as you know, senator mccain, for some perspective, has been pushing for a comprehensive immigration reform policy in this country for some time now. so we, of course, have called into senator mccain s office this morning and we hope to get a little more clarification in terms of what he meant or why he believed that comment. if that was the case that would be extremely explosive, and we will hear a lot more about this. casey stegall, covering this from los angeles thanks a lot. bill: mime this fire is phenomenal. the thing has just been burning for weeks now, the biggest arizona has ever seen. and so dry there and so hot on top of it. bill: so the governor, rick perry, out of texas, says the republicans need to stop apologizing for who they are and what they believe. but is it too late for rick perry? we ll have brit hume that in a moment. he s on d
