荷蘭烏得勒支大學的研究人員發現，約五分之一的貓和狗，從寵物主人身上感染了中共病毒，雖然傳播率較高，不過，寵物們幾乎沒有或只是出現輕微生病的跡象。
荷蘭烏得勒支大學研究員 Els Broens：「看來這種病毒更針對人類，會使人出現嚴重病症，但並不針對貓狗。」
這項研究發表在歐洲臨床微生物與感染性疾病學會(ESCMID,European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases)的一篇論文上，對全球196個出現確診患者的家庭，測試了156隻狗狗和154隻貓咪。
約17%的寵物（31隻貓咪和23隻狗狗）體內，出現了中共病毒抗體，這意味著它們曾被感染。
另外4.2%的寵物（6隻貓和7隻狗），PCR核酸檢測呈陽性。
據悉確診的寵物都是受到主人的傳染，不過沒有發現病毒在動物間傳播。研究員建議確診者，盡量和家中寵物保持距離。
