Cascade Lakes Highway Reopens

The forest closure for the Cedar Creek Fire on the Deschutes National Forest was reduced over the weekend, opening up the Cascade Lakes Highway. Recreation areas on the eastern side of the Cascade Lakes Highway, including Crane Prairie, North and South Twin Lakes, and Wickiup Reservoir will be accessible. Davis Lake and Cultus Lake areas will remain closed. Campgrounds reopened at Lava Lake, Little Lava Lake, and in the Twin Lakes area; however, Sheep's Bridge and Crane Prairie campgrounds will remain closed. Please check with local resorts for information about the services they will be offering.

Redmond Rotary Club's sponsorship at the recent Wild Ride Jump Show raised $10,000 for the Central Oregon Veterans Ranch. Rotarian Justin Homan organized the sponsorship event and could be seen jumping the ramps. Rotarians will present a $10,000 donation check to Central Oregon Veterans Ranch Wednesday.
