Hoffman Construction Co. built the 12.4-million-gallon project for the Portland Water Bureau. Washington Park’s water infrastructure was built more than 120 years ago. The new enclosed, concrete box is anchored to bedrock with dozens of reinforced pilings up to 5-feet thick. The reservoir is engineered to withstand a magnitude 9 earthquake.
