Little Artists Artwork
Rochdale Borough Council and the Ragdoll Foundation are funding Heywood-based Cartwheel Arts to deliver an exciting new project called ‘Little artists: Big box of creativity’.
They will be working with 30 families across the borough to co-design an activity resource and art pack for children aged two-four years.
The work will engage with families from different backgrounds who often experience adverse childhood experiences in their early years, are asylum seekers, refugees, Gypsy Roma Traveller communities or are cared for children.
The aim of the art project is to empower children to fulfil their potential, express themselves, feel pride in their creativity and have the chance of success that they deserve.

St Margaret s children watching the fire show
Over a thousand children in Darnhill, Heywood, have received an early Christmas present, thanks to Cartwheel Arts and the Darnhill Festival Association (DFA).
Creative Christmas art packs have been delivered to every child at four Darnhill schools: St Margaret’s; Our Lady & St Paul’s; Woodland Primary; and Heap Bridge.
The boxes include art materials and a booklet containing 16 activities designed by Cartwheel’s freelance artists Natalie Linney, Abi Rogers, Laura Sutcliffe-Tasker, and Oliver and Charlotte Bishop from Yan Tan Tethera.
