Bulletin Board: Pipione’s Sport Shop ekes out GGSL win

Grace Laurie retired six batters while Autumn Thornton struck out two and added a single as Pipione’s Sport Shop defeated Pelletier Electric, 11-10, in a Greenfield Girls Softball League Ponytail Division contest on Thursday.
Carson Farrell, Max Luippold and Addison Talbot played well in the field in the win for Pipione’s.
Emmy Nash and Jacelyn Boliski each struck out three batters for Pelletier. Cayleigh Aldrich had two hits and drove in four runs while Leah Potter also had two hits in the loss.

Bulletin Board: Turners Falls/FC Tech baseball and softball to tangle in primetime May 14

The battle for the Powertown will take place in primetime this spring.
Turners Falls High School will host Franklin County Technical School in varsity baseball and softball on May 14 at the Bourdeau Fields Complex. Baseball will begin at 6 p.m. while softball is set for a 7 p.m. first pitch.
In the bottom of the second inning in both varsity games, Turners Falls will “pass the hat” to collect money for the Food Bank of Western Mass. Fans are permitted to attend the games, but masks are required and they must be socially distanced from other families.
VANCOUVER Carson Farrell put an offer in on a townhouse his pregnant wife had never seen in person. And about a week ago, he said goodbye to 12 years of renting and they officially moved into their first home. “We’re still unpacking,” Farrell said. “There’s painters in as we speak.” It wasn’t the couple’s first offer on a place. And it wasn’t an easy process to get to the point of becoming homeowners. “A lot of the, I guess, nicer places, were out of our reach,” he said. Farrell says he would have loved to stay in New Westminster or move closer to family in Surrey, but prices forced them farther out into the suburbs.
