yesterday on the streets of charlottesville carrying automatic and semi-automatic weapons through the streets, protecting the white supremacist marchers, many people here demanding those open carry laws go away. many people are critical of the police response in charlottesville. the police department here, many people felt as though they stayed on the sidelines while the melee, the fighting and ultimately the murder of one individual by that automobile in the streets of charlottesville happened as they stood by. the police have sharply defended their conduct. but what the stated goal here is is healing. one by one as these members of the audience step to the microphones, that s been the theme that the organizers have tried to put forward. i spoke with several of the attendees before going in. here s what one of them had to say. i think we were used kind of like as a testing ground to see how their movement could go further. and we re all here because of the aftermath of just the vile
figure out what college they want to attend so many of the university wanna-bes are thinking about what school is the best for them. but is a school campus, one that has an open carry law the best for them? utah was the first state to enact sb-11 andight oer states along allowing the students with conceale carry licenses to bring their guns on to most public college campuses. but at least one group is pushing back against the policy, alums from the university of texas created a campaign ridiculing the conceal carry laws an one of the tactics include a satirical advertisement for what they call student body armor. yeah, this is real. joining me to discuss the bulletproof hoodie is the creative officer, so great to have you here. we have win of the examples of the sweatshirts. this is what it looks like and

sort of a domestic dispute, but to pick up on jim s point, one big concern that you have in a situation like this is that it s a diversion or a distraction for another event, either at that airport or somewhere else in the aviation system. so you can imagine that the word is out at the major airports in the country to lean a little forward and be on your game right now until they know exactly what they have at ft. lauderdale. cal perry just pointed out that was the case in istanbul as well. that first shooter in istanbul was a diversion to allow the other shooters to get in. one other thing i checked on, you can carry in 44 states at airports. florida is not one of those states. florida has very strict carry laws at airports. and again, just to be clear, listeners and viewers we re talking about istanbul but at this point no indication that this was anything like that. still no word on a motivation.
