experience that we had in 2016, we do expect the komey to crest close to, if not slightly higher than the crest in 2016. that is obviously not good news here. we expect the a am amy to crest around the crest of the 1983 flood level. that s a little better than in 2016, but still a very serious flood threat. some good news is that the gauge at the carrollton the carrollton gauge, i should say, the mississippi river in new orleans is now expected to crest at 17.1 feet. as you know, as of yesterday, we were expecting that crest to be 19 feet. even at 19 feet, we didn t anticipate river overtopping lee levee s anywhere. we can say the river won t overtop the levee anywhere on
if you look at this, you see it s a really narrow piece of real estate that s going to get that heavy rain. you might be able to go 20 miles in one direction and talk about maybe 2 inches of rain. and 20 miles in the other direction and talking about 18 inches of rain. we can t say exactly who is going to get that 2, who is going to get that 18. that s why everybody needs to prepare for that one of those things with this storm where we don t see it immediately because flooding is very difficult to get the images out of that this might be something probably monday we start to seat real impacts from this flooding that we aren t going to see right when the storm moves on shore right here. when we don t see the pictures out of the way don t think we are out of the blue because there is a lot of water that s going to fall and that s going to cause all of our flooding over the next couple of days. griff: that s right, rick. you talk about the mighty mississippi cresting at 17 feet would be a
