Mistaken identity or justifiable shooting? New twist in Marion murder case
The woman accused in a bizarre mistaken-identity shooting made two bold claims in court last week.
For one thing, Jennifer Hill says she wasn t mistaken on that fateful night: Despite what authorities said, she knew at the time that the man she shot was not Michael John Beach.
Hill also says she shot in self-defense and should be immune from prosecution under Florida s stand your ground law.
Appearing at a hearing via Zoom from the Marion County Jail, Hill was adamant that she knew the man she shot was not Beach. Hill told the court she thought the man she shot knew Beach and could tell her where to find him.
