The Hamilton, a new $9.4 million low and moderate income apartment complex, is wrapping construction in downtown Pontiac. Large tents stood guard over medical staff behind the Oakland County Medical Examiner s Office on Telegraph Road. Trickles of cars became streams as the pandemic wore on, with the site able to test 250 people per day. “Even in the face of the pandemic, which has affected everyone, we never slowed down here in Pontiac,” Deirdre Waterman, mayor of the city, said. “We just learned how to work around it, how to accommodate the changes necessary to keep people healthy and safe.”
