DELAWARE – One of the results of Democrats taking control of the Senate is that Sen. Tom Carper (D – Delaware) will soon be named chair of the committee on environment and public works.
Speaking with Sen. Carper Monday, the senior senator seemed eager to lead the committee and already expressed a willingness to work across the aisle.
Sen. Carper saying that last week, even before the races in Georgia were called, that he had a good talk with Sen. Shelley Moore Capito (R-West Virginia) on the work that they can get done. Sen. Carper saying that regardless of who was chairing the committee, that the two could do a lot of good for the country.
