Police are investigating the death of a nine-year-old child who attempted a “challenge” on social media site TikTok, only to be found dead hours later by his relatives.
Emmanuel Poteon was discovered by his grandmother at their Maloney Gardens home on Monday evening two hours after she noticed he was missing.
According to police, around 2 pm on Monday, Emmanuel’s grandmother raised an alarm about his whereabouts.
Searches of the street where he lived and the house were done but it would take the family three hours to find him in a bathroom in the home’s guest bedroom.

Acting Secretary General of the Sanatan Dharma Maha Sabha, Vijay Maharaj, believes the Ministry of Education, at its Press Conference today, will postpone the physical reopening of schools.
The Ministryâs press briefing is scheduled for 2, this afternoon.
On February 8th, Standard Fives and students in Forms Four to Six were expected to return to school.
“I believe that we have become a nation that is paranoid,” Maharaj said.
A move, he said, which will affect the nation’s children mental health further. He observed that children are beginning to hurt themselves.
“Our children are not accustomed to being locked down for 10 months. They need to socialise and attend school,” Maharaj said.
