A lawsuit filed by seven doctors who left CaroMont Health s South Point Family Practice to form a new medical practice under the Charlotte-based Tryon Medical Partners umbrella has been voluntarily dismissed.
The doctors had taken the legal action against CaroMont Health in September of 2019 because their former employer wanted them to pay $1.8 million to be freed from a non compete clause in their contracts.
A check of public records at the Gaston County Clerk s Office showed the suit had been dismissed but gave no details of the settlement between the litigants. Neither did statements released by the parties involved.
A statement from CaroMont Health said simply, CaroMont Medical Group and seven physicians formerly in practice at South Point Family Practice (have) reached a confidential settlement agreement resolving a dispute over non compete provisions included in the physicians employment contracts.
