According to Kenton County Prosecutor Rob Sanders, Charlesâ motive revolved in part around the familyâs drug-dealing business. But it was more complicated than that. He says Doug would beat Charlie for using the drugs and, for that, Charlie wanted revenge.
âIt was that control over Uncle Charlieâs life that provoked [him] to say, âI had enough and Iâm going to kill him,ââ Sanders said.
As for Tomlinson, Comptonâs mother, Sanders says it was a case of wrong-place, wrong-time.
âShe was not a part of the drug-dealing information,â he said. âHer only crime was living with Doug Eapmon, and she was shot to prevent her being a witness in Dougâs murder.â
