senate since reconstruction. can you see the, today s republican voters, choosing scott over donald trump? who s looking more and more like the front runner in the republican presidential nomination. and can you see scott s personal story resonating with black voters, despite his political affiliation? well, i think you know, as an honorary south carolina in, with ties to my sweetheart, i don t know that the south carolinians are up for tim scott in the stories that he would be able to tell as it relates to his upbringing. i know that the democrats are the ones who have the real story that have been connecting with people. now, we have a demonstration in an illustration of what that support could potentially look like for african american republicans, when we went missed the speakers vote. 15 rounds of votes, and they did have a candidate that was thrown into the ring, if you
joining us now is north carolina governor roy cooper. governor, thank you so much for being here tonight. i ll just get right to it. do you think republicans given the polling, given the numbers in terms of support for this abortion ban, do you think republicans will pay a price for their actions yesterday? yes, they will. it s pretty clear that partisan gerrymandering on steroids caused this today because the majority of north carolinians do not want people are angry. women feel slapped in the face with this bill that came at them so fast, and every single republican even though who promised to protect women s reproductive freedom, those republicans in swing districts, everyone one of them voted for this ban. and this shows us that
hard over the next few weeks, to make sure that it comes true, that the statements come true. it is really important for women to have as much access as possible. there is a lot of room in the legislation for interpretation. you don t get the medical providers to allow amends, and you do it in less than 48 hours, you know, you are not going to gate good product, and that is where we are and have been. you are a major figure in politics as a news reporter in raleigh-durham, i covered you as attorney general. and right now, the poll shows that a majority of north carolinians do not want more
