Saugerties sculpture park Opus 40 just announced that the nonprofit received a $300,000 grant from the Andrew W. Mellon foundation, which matches another grant awarded by the National Parks Service’s Save America’s Treasures initiative. The funds will be used to restore and conserve the sculpture, in an interactive project that will involve the local community with mentorships, programs, and guided tours of the process.
The iconic sculpture park has received major funding for the repair and preservation of the 6.5 acre bluestone sculpture at the center of their property that was created by a late Bard College professor.
