Derrick Denzel Mack Mohrmann, 27, died at the scene.
The accident happened just after 2 a.m. on US 29 North in Belton. Mohrmann was traveling south on US 29 North when he crossed over the double yellow line into the northbound lane and struck a 2016 Jeep head-on, according to the Highway Patrol.
Belton EMS, Medshore EMS and Anderson County (Whitefield) Fire Department also responded to the scene.
Troopers report that Mohrmann was not wearing a seatbelt and was trapped inside his vehicle. The fire department had to use the Jaws of Life to remove him from the vehicle.
Mohrmann sustained multiple traumatic injuries during the collision, according to the Anderson County Coroner s Office. The occupants of the other vehicle were uninjured.
