Anderson county coroner says the students do not appear to have life threatening injuries. A motive isnt known at this point, but local media says a death reported on a nearby road is related to the shooting, although its not clear how. Police say a teen suspect is in custody. Tonight salem police are considering whether to file charges against a mother after her 2yearold daughter was run over. Investigators say the Mother Told Police she Andy Hershberger has more. This after a teenaged gunman is accused of shooting his father, then going to a South Carolina Elementary School the shooters grandparents are revealing details about the hours leading up to the shooting. The suspects grandmother says the teen called her, distraught. The grandparents rushed over to the suspects house and found the teens father, Jeffrey Osborne shot to death. The grandmother got that call around 145 wednesday afternoon. Investigators say about a minute later a teacher at townville elementary called 911 to report the shooting. 3 victims were shot. The district outcome couldve been worse. One boy who was shot is in critical condition. A teacher and another student were treated and released from the hospital. The shooter was taken into custody. Just rushing home to know that it was actually my neighbors son it was really heart breaking. A neighbor told thus complex is filled with single moms who have between three and five children. She believed that little boy who died was one of five kids all of them young. The grim question hanging over this tragic scene, how was it a fiveyearold boy was able to get his hands on a loaded gun. Unfortunately, when weapons are involved you have to be sure those type of things because these incidents happen. So once again police have not released the name of this little boy.
