But i thought maybe one day i write this book and people notice it, maybe one day the mayor of charleston will be holding it in front of an audience. [laughter] it tells the story of reconstruction and im going to read some passages from it some of which deal with the Police Department and some of which deal with the charleston mayor as the police chief and current mayor here is plain and poignant. We are all errors to something. We have no say we are born where we are and we have no say of what we inherit and what we dont. All we have control over is what we do with it. We are going to recount some of the triumphs of the city and the greatest tragedies so it is for all of you moving on from the tragedy of 2015, youve created this group. You decided intentionally to create this space where difficult issues in the community could be discussed. It would have been easy and hum
