Reggie Beamon, store manager of the Food Lion at 851 Washington Square Mall in Washington, North Carolina, is Food Lion’s 2020 Ralph W. Ketner Store Manager of the Year. Beamon was chosen from a group of more than 1,000 store managers across the banner’s 10-state market area.
Named for one of Food Lion’s founders, the Ralph W. Ketner Store Manager Excellence Awards recognize store managers who enrich the lives of customers, associates and surrounding communities, are successful business leaders, and support and inspire others. In tandem with honoring Beamon, Food Lion is donating 20,000 meals to Deeper Life Ministries, in Washington, North Carolina, through the retailer’s hunger relief effort, Food Lion Feeds.

Instacart and Food Lion are expanding Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) payments, the latest example of the one of the ongoing trends in food retail in 2021.
More specifically, the San Francisco-based Instacart has launched Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) SNAP payment integration in partnership with Food Lion. With this launch, EBT SNAP online payment will now be available at more than 350 Food Lion stores across North Carolina. People who rely on EBT SNAP will now be able to use their benefits for online grocery delivery and pickup at Food Lion.

Food Lion has opened a liquor store adjacent to its Clover, South Carolina, supermarket at 5233 Highway 557. The liquor store is open Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m.-7 p.m.
