Uruguay s capital increases investment in science
Montevideo, Mar 7 (Prensa Latina) The Mayor s Office of Montevideo will increase investment in science from today through a special innovation fund, after the government cut back resources of that vital sector. The capital s community and the University of the Republic (UDELAR) signed an agreement with emphasis on ecological management and urban mobility.
According to Mayor Carolia Cosse, complex issues call for collective solutions to create a fund to finance projects through which UDELAR groups of researchers will contribute ideas to face the challenges of our department.
For its implementation, a call for the presentation of projects will be launched, whose topics will be traffic in the city, soil care, water courses and air quality.
