Croke Park now on Eir s 5G network
Eir said today that its 5G network is now available to more than 53% of the population of the country.
Its 5G network has now reached 204 towns and cities across the country including Longford town, Bundoran, Knock airport, Tullow, Bray, Celbridge, Boyle, Carrick-on-Shannon, Gorey, Shannon, Rush, Birr, Callan, Fermoy and Castlebar.
A new 5G service was also today switched on in Croke Park in Dublin. Eir is delighted to be the first operator to surpass 53% of the population of the country with 5G and to be the first to bring 5G to life in Croke Park, the company s chief executive Carolan Lennon said.
A new 5G service was also today switched on in Croke Park on Tuesday, with it aiming to allow fans to share the matchday experience from games to friends and family back at home, once fans can return to the venue.
Speaking in Croke Park today, Carolan Lennon, CEO of Eir, said: Eir is delighted to be the 1st operator to surpass 53% of the population of the country with 5G and to be the 1st to bring 5G to life in Croke Park. We are also delighted to turn on Croke Park’s 5G capabilities, ahead of the Dublin vs Mayo game this weekend. When fans return, they’ll be able to enjoy speeds up to 10 times faster than 4G and a reliable connection, bringing with it the ability to share the excitement of the big game instantly with friends and family at home.
