30-year-old woman killed in predawn Anniston shooting; another woman jailed AL.com 2/17/2021 A predawn shooting in Anniston left one woman dead and another behind bars. The shooting happened about 3:15 a.m. Wednesday in the 1500 block of Hillyer Robinson Industrial Parkway, said Anniston police Lt. Tim Suits. Officers arrived to find 30-year-old Ashley Lindsey suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Lindsey was taken to Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center where she later died. Few details have been released but investigators identified the suspect as 27-year-old Brianna Jo Adams. Both women are from Anniston. Adams later turned herself in to officers at the Anniston Police Department.

Birmingham police and fire medics are on the scene of a double shooting on the city’s west side. The shooting happened shortly before 10 p.m. Thursday in the Kimbrough Homes public housing complex in the Wenonah Community. Officer Truman Fitzgerald said police were notified of a double shooting int he 2900 block of John Bryant Road. According to witnesses, a 2-year-old is among the victims. .

Authorities in two Alabama cities are trying to identify a man who has left “harassing” letters at business, mostly delivered in broad daylight. Tuscaloosa police Tuesday morning posted on Facebook photos of the man and his vehicle, saying they believe he left packages that included letters at several downtown businesses and at least one church in the area of Highway 82 East. The photo released Tuesday was taken around lunchtime Saturday.

A 74-year-old man critically injured in a weekend assault has died, and now a homicide investigation is underway. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office on Wednesday identified the victim as Michael Ryan Berry. The wounded man was discovered in the 1200 block of Hanover Street in Tarrant. Tarrant police and fire medics were dispatched at 9:43 a.m. to the location on a report of an assault. They arrived on the scene to find Berry bleeding from the head.

According to police and family, Wolfe was returning to his apartment when, just outside the entrance gate, someone opened fire on him. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
