How organisations can ensure that remote working is effective for all

THE STANDARD OPINION Carol Koech, Schneider Electric Country President   I don’t need to tell you that 2020 was all about digital; we adapted to the pandemic, to both keep our people safe as well as keep business and economies moving. Electricity used to be the must-have resource, now it’s the internet and a lot of us are living online. And are businesses able to support their employees, many of whom are working remotely and are relying on their own home networks.

According to market research company Gartner, the global data center market size is poised to hit US$200 billion by 2021. Africa data center market size is expected to cross $3 billion by 2025, growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of over 12 per cent during the forecast period. The Africa data center industry has witnessed a steady interest from major global cloud service providers such as AWS and Microsoft, along with Huawei over the last five years.
