A trio of maiden special weight races top Delaware Park’s opening day card. The track kicks off its 84
th season of live racing May 26.
Among the expected meet highlights will be jockey Carol Cedeno’s bid for a record seventh riding title at the Stanton, DE oval and trainer Jamie Ness’s attempt to secure his seventh title, which would tie him with Scott Lake and Hall of Famer Bud Delp for the most in history.

Three-time defend leading rider Carol Cedeno will be taking a run at history when the 84
th live racing season at Delaware Park begins on May 26. The Delaware resident will be going for a record seventh leading jockey title at the Stanton-oval.
Since 2014, the native of Puerto Rico has been the leading jockey every season with the exception of 2017. She is currently tied with another Delaware Park legend Michael McCarthy who won six titles from 1996 through 2000 and 2002.
Three-year-old It’s a Gamble earned his first stakes win when he scored in Friday’s Jersey Derby on opening day at Monmouth Park.
