NORWELL Interviews of Norwell police chief candidates could happen as early as this week after three finalists were chosen to fill the spot left by Ted Ross, who retired after 33 years with the department.
Two of the candidates are police chiefs in other towns; the third resigned from his position as chief in March.
The candidates are John Carbone, the police chief of Barre; Leon Krolikowski, the chief in New Canaan, Connecticut; and Edward Lee, who resigned as the chief of Hopkinton in March.
Norwell Town Administrator Peter Morin said the search committee received resumes from 35 candidates. The committee whittled it down to 11 who were asked to answer written questions, and then an unspecified number the committee also wanted to interview.
