The provincial government announced this week $3 million in funding to support Ontario’s equine industry affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, but some area equine businesses won’t qualify for the funding as their 2020 revenue has to be less than half of what they earned in 2019.
The funding will be through the Equine Hardship Program to help horse experience businesses cover animal maintenance costs incurred from COVID-19 disruptions, a news release from the Ontario government said.
