The outdoor dining area at the trendy Hop Shoppe restaurant in Stapleton was destroyed by a car on Wednesday morning, according to owner Carmine Gualtieri. Remnants of chairs, tables and protective barriers were scattered on the sidewalk and roadway in front of the gastropub, located at 372 Van Duzer St., along a route popular with drivers heading to the St. George Ferry Terminal.
