The WSU student who was arrested on suspicion of a hit-and-run DUI accident during parents’ weekend now has a set trial date. Police said Carmen E. Fernandez, 19, on Nov. 12 hit two students by the Grove apartments and was arrested for felony vehicular assault, hit-and-run and DUI. Fernandez was released from jail Nov. 15.
A homicide in the Moscow-Pullman area and one hit-and-run happened within 24 hours this weekend. The Moscow Police Department is still investigating the death of four people near the University of Idaho campus, but there is no threat to the community, according to an alert sent to UI students at 5:17 p.m. The homicide occurred.
