Four San Diego County-based nonprofits with programs to support COVID-19 recovery efforts for Chula Vista residents have been awarded thousands in grant funding from the Chula Vista Community Foundation.
The foundation, an affiliate of the San Diego Foundation that supports nonprofits and community projects, announced last week that it had granted $100,000 to the organizations, which are providing relief to small business owners, former foster youth and people facing food insecurity in one of the county’s most affected areas by the pandemic.
“As one of the hardest-hit regions, we want to ensure Chula Vista and its residents have the resources they need to forge ahead and successfully recover from the pandemic,” said Carmen Richardson, foundation board chair, in a statement. “Through effective philanthropy and strategic grantmaking, these grant programs benefit those who live and work in Chula Vista, now and in the future.”
