HSBC AM selects first global head of ETF capital markets

The role is new and Mr. Patel is based in London.

Carmen Gonzalez-Calatayud, head of ETF capability, Mr. Patel is responsible for running the firm s exchange-traded funds capital markets function and driving the liquidity strategy for its ETF platform. He works closely with the ETF sales team, and with operations and product development teams.
HSBC AM runs $15.5 billion in ETFs and $93.9 billion in passive and systematic strategies. Bhaven s experience in designing and launching asset class-specific ETF platforms will enable us to continue expanding our growing range of ETF products and capabilities, Thorsten Michalik, global head of external wholesale and ETFs, said in a news release.

HSBC Gam hires head of ETF strategy from Invesco
Dominic Clabby was head of product engagement for Invesco ETFs for the last four years
HSBC Global Asset Management has hired Invesco’s former ETF product head Dominic Clabby as it continues its push into the ETF market.
Clabby (pictured) has been appointed to the newly created role head of ETF strategy and will be responsible for driving the fund group’s current product range and expanding its offering. Based in London, he will report to Carmen Gonzalez-Calatayud, head of ETF Capability.
Clabby has over 17 years’ experience in the investment industry, seven of which were spent on ETF strategy and distribution. Most recently he headed the product engagement function for Invesco ETFs, joining the firm after it acquired Source ETFs in 2017. He has also worked at Axa Distribution Services and Fidelity International.
