Under coach Diljeet Taylor’s watchful eye, the BYU women’s track and cross-country teams have become consistent players on the national landscape. Distance runner Courtney Wayment and javelin thrower Ashton Riner both claimed titles at the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships last weekend.
Ashton Riner placed first in the javelin, highlighted by an opening throw of 57.25m/187-10. Teammate Alex McAllister qualified by finishing seventh with a throw of 52.26m/171-5.
Razorback Isabel Van Camp finished third in the College division of the 1,500m with a time of 4 minutes, 17.42 seconds, to highlight Arkansas’ first day of competition in the Penn Relays on Thursday at Franklin Field.
