As photos and videos of the deadly riots that rocked Washington D.C. Wednesday spread across social media, ties to the Hoosier state began to emerge.
The violence sparked by a pro-Trump mob that clashed with police and stormed the U.S. Capitol caused a lockdown and resulted in four deaths: A woman who was shot by the U.S. Capitol Police, and two men and one woman who died in âseparate medical emergencies.â
D.C. Police Chief Robert Contee said more than 50 arrests were made, and at least 14 police officers were injured in the assault.
On Twitter, many made unfounded claims that the chaos was caused by antifa members and leftists masquerading as Proud Boys and supporters of President Donald Trump.
