Steinlage replaces Lynne Rains, who is transitioning to Barkers Mill Elementary as principal.
Steinlage has served as assistant principal at Byrns Darden Elementary School since 2018. Previously, she has served as an academic coach at Byrns Darden and Hazelwood elementary schools and a teacher at Hazelwood Elementary. During her tenure with CMCSS, which dates back to 2010, Steinlage has also served as a site-based induction specialist and on several school and district-level committees.
She earned her M.S. in Educational Leadership K-12 from the University of Tennessee Martin and her B.S. in Elementary Education from the University of South Florida. Steinlage completed the McREL Balanced Leadership Training for Administrators, as well as several Kagan Professional Development workshops.

CLARKSVILLE, TN – Mr. Millard House II, Clarksville-Montgomery County School System’s Director of Schools, has been named the TN Mid-Cumberland Superintendent of the Year and is in the running for the state’s Superintendent of the Year.
House has been CMCSS’ Director of Schools since 2017. Under his leadership, the district has continued to advance as a high-performing school system, receiving state and national recognition for its accomplishments and innovation.

HAWKINS COUNTY, Tenn. Fourth graders at Mt. Carmel Elementary in Hawkins County worked together to bring smiles and warmth to residents of a local long-term care facility.
The students wrote dozens of letters of encouragement to people living at Church Hill Healthcare and Rehab. Some even included some drawings, such as a heart, a house, snow scape, and a rainbow..

A news release from Delta Dental of Tennessee says it has selected 55 schools to receive the “Water’s Cool @ School” grant.
Delta Dental says that this grant will be used by schools to install new Elkay bottle filling stations, and provide toothbrushes to students and staff.
“I’m glad we can help make drinking water both ‘cool’ and more accessible to students across the state. It’s one of the best things you can do for your health, at any age,” said Dr. Phil Wenk, CEO and president of Delta Dental of Tennessee.
