Saturday, April 24, 2021 4:00 AM Custom home builder Christopher Scott Homes plans to move its offices and open a 4800 square foot retail design center showroom for its AR Homes division on the main floor of the Indiana Design Center (IDC).
Christopher Scott Homes has been in business since 2002, creating one-of-a-kind luxury homes in the Indianapolis area. The owners, Chris Carnell and Scott Bates, have partnered to provide unique home design with personalized service and top-of-the-line products and materials. The company prides itself as hands-on builders, offering meticulous oversight at building projects to maintain excellent quality control.
In 2016 they created a second building division, AR Homes by Christopher Scott. In this division, clients start with one of AR Homes’ award-winning plans and customize it for the perfect design, streamlining the build process and making it easier to design a home within budget. Cathy Rowan said she had a pretty serious case of COVID-19 in November, which is why although she will no longer wear a mask most of the time, if someone asks her to put one on, she said she would be glad to do so.
“Oh, I would definitely put it on, and I would also honor people’s opinion if they would like me to wear it in their home,” Rowan said.
Ben Graves said he feels the same and will not wear masks anymore unless someone asks him to.
“I’m done, but I’d respect the business and wear a mask, no problem,” Graves said.

The Indiana Design Center is pleased to welcome design professionals and the public to a Spring Design Open House from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 11, 2021. The Spring Design Open House is a wonderful way to talk with participating showroom associates and design professionals at the IDC who can help solve your design dilemmas and connect you with the right products and service solutions.

In March, the City of Carmel will partner with the Carmel Arts Council on a special celebration of National Disability Awareness Month by seeking out artists of all ages and disabilities, residing in Carmel, to submit their art work for a special exhibit to be viewed both virtually and throughout the Carmel Arts & Design District during the Saturday evening Meet Me on Main event on March 13.
These wonderful works of art will include all art mediums, including three-dimensional projects and handmade crafts. They will be featured on the Carmel Arts Council website and be shared on social media throughout the month of March.
