FMC Presented with Interim Recommendations to Address Supply Chain Issues Share this article The Federal Maritime Commission has been presented with a set of interim recommendations from its fact finding investigation into challenges facing the ocean transportation supply chain brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. In an open session held Tuesday, Commissioner Rebecca F. Dye provided the Commission with eight Interim Recommendations meant to address current conditions contributing to congestion and other inefficiencies in the ocean freight system. The Federal Maritime Commission ordered Fact Finding No. 29 back in March 2020 to investigate congestion and bottlenecks at ports and other points in the supply chain that posed a serious risk to the U.S. economy. Carnival Breeze, Carnival Vista arrive in Galveston in advance of cruise rally at Port tomorrow Two of Carnival Cruise Line’s Galveston-based ships – Carnival Breeze and Carnival Vista – arrived at the Port of Galveston earlier today in anticipation of a cruise rally at the port on Monday to discuss the economic impact of the 14-month pause in operations. Carnival President Christine Duffy and Galveston Mayor Dr. Craig Brown were among the speakers at the event that is hosted by the Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) which was represented by FMC Commissioners Louis E.
